About Matthew McCormick
Matthew McCormick was a graduate of Archbishop Alter High School in 1988, a Xavier University Bachelor's degree with a concentration in finance in 1992, and Xavier University MBA graduate with a concentration in marketing in 1995. Matt was a business professional for 22 years, and spent the last 11 years as a Vice President, Principal, and Portfolio Manager at the prestigious investment advisory firm, Bahl & Gaynor. He was frequently featured on Bloomberg Television, CNBC, Fox Business News, NPR, Reuters, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, the Cincinnati Enquirer, Cincinnati Business Courier, Cincinnati Magazine, Cincy, and many more. Barron's and Pensions & Investments each wrote a profile on him. He was honored by being one of the "Forty Under 40" by the Cincinnati Business Courier in 2009. One of his biggest passions in life was Xavier University where he continued to give back to the school through serving on many boards with the school and being one of the biggest fans of the basketball program. He and his family could always be found in their court-side seats during home games and often times at numerous post-season road games. He was a devout Catholic, strong conservative Republican, and tireless patriot. Matt lived his Catholic faith daily, loved his country, pursued his profession with a devoted passion, but most importantly he loved his family with all his heart and soul. Everything he did, he did for the love of his family. All of Matt's free time was spent with his family. Matthew passed away unexpectedly at the age of 44 on September 4, 2014. In 2015, his wife Susan worked with Xavier University to endow the symposium in his name for many years to come.
